Random Post

This blog post is the random post so I'm going to dedicated it to things randomly on my mind. So welcome aboard and let's see where this ship takes us. First thing that has popped into my mind is what makes us happy? Even better question is what's happiness? We all know when we're happy or not, but it's hard to describe what the feeling is. You could probably easily recall the last time that you were really angry, upset, or stressed, but it isn't as easy to pinpoint the last time you were really really happy. Was it when I that burrito earlier today? Was it after I finished my midterm? Or was it when I got to return home for the summer? I honestly don't know. I started to realize that the older I got the more complex everything around me became. Subsequently, my happiness has also become more complex. So what does make me happy? Being with friends, having nothing on my plate, watching sports, playing guitar, this list goes on for a while. Interesting, very interesting.

The next thing on my mind is space. Like the universe. The fact that we don't really know what is out there and what the purpose (if there is any) of everything is and how far does it really go absolutely blows my mind. Can you imagine being somewhere so far away that it takes light 100 million years to get there? 100 million light years away is so inconceivably far that it just hurts to even think about it. We think Mars is far away, and it is relative to distances that we're used to, but that's microscopic to the grand scheme of things. Crazy. Honestly don't get me started on the universe. Basically, space is big, I don't know what's out there, and it's very wild to me.

The last thing I can think of is pretty controversial topic. It's cereal. I'm going to try to rank cereals into underrated, perfectly rated, and overrated:

Underrated:

  • Honey bunches of oats, Frosted flakes (these are insane, and somehow still underrated), Rice Krispies, Cocoa Krispies, Life

Perfectly Rated:

  • Lucky Charms (Top 5 All-time), Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruit Loops, Cheerios, Trix
Overrated: 
  • Captain Crunch, Reese's Puffs, Apple Jacks (I don't even know if there are highly rated, but they're clearly just worse fruit loops), Cookie Crisp 

Not sure why I just did that, but hey it needed to be done. I know my opinion is right. If it had to pick a top 10 cereals I would simply not be able to. So many good options to choose from. Well this has to be the most random blog post of all time. Nice.

    I agree that Reese's Puffs is kind of overrated. I always felt like the cereal had a stale taste to it--even though I just got a fresh scoop from a new box. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the bomb though. That's my favorite cereal and always makes me feel happy when I eat it.

    Cinnamon toast crunch is the best! I definitely agree that frosted flakes and hunny bunches of oats are underrated. Also it's so trippy how we're so small in this universe, I do wonder what else is out there that we don't know about.

    Life cereal is the most lowkey cereal out of all of them, and I really don't know anyone who still eats Reese's. I was watching an Elon Musk interview where he talks about humans living in a simulation, and how if you believe in the laws of math there is someone exactly like you in another universe somewhere.

    Gavin, I really enjoy this random post, especially the breakdown of cereals. I agree with Rice Krispies being underrated, Lucky Charms being perfect, and Cookie Crisps being disgusting.

    Love the different random topics included in one post. Can't agree more with the Honey Bunches of Oats as it's in my personal top three cereals and is underrated by so many.

    When i read the part about Space, I immediately connected. Learning about our universe and what's out there has always fascinated me. I'm not really a science person but astronomy is something I've wanted to explore more about my whole life.

    Wow this post was all over the place, but I loved every second of it. Never been a fan of Apple Jacks either. The whole idea of space really trips me out since we are super small relative to whats out there and that scares me a little bit.

Random Post 2

For the first random post, I decided to randomly write about three things on my mind. For this I'm going to keep up the trend and do the same thing. The first thing that I could think of are some of pet peeves. My first pet peeve is bad story tellers. This just really pisses me off. If you're going to tell a story (whether it's to make someone laugh or make a point) at least make it interesting. Book 2 Post 1

For my second book I decided to read American Like Me by America Ferrera (along with 32 other individual authors). So far this book is much different than any other book I've read. Each story told is slightly different from the next based on the authors personal experiences, yet they all show very similar themes. Being different and not fitting in is something that a lot of these stories have in common. It's very interesting to see how such big celebrities have struggled at times with their own identity in the US. My favorite story that I've read is Jeremy Lin's. Being a huge sports fan, it's cool to see into a players childhood and experience growing up trying to fit in. Jeremy talks about how he was the only Asian kid on any of his basketball teams, and was often times the only non-white kid playing.
